Styles, tiers & worktops
The choices behind a great kitchen.
A kitchen is a set of decisions — the door style, the cabinet tier, the worktop — and the right ones depend as much on how you cook and live as on how it looks. Here's an honest, plain-English guide to the options we design and make, and what each is genuinely best for. It's the sort of thing your designer will talk you through in person, too.
01
Door style
Shaker Kitchens
Best for: Period homes · family kitchens · timeless looks
The shaker door is the enduring British kitchen — clean lines, honest proportions and a look that ages rather than dates. We hand-make seventeen shaker door styles, from Belgravia and Berkeley through to Windsor and Wembury, so there's a proportion to suit a period cottage or a modern extension. With more than forty frontal colours and over twenty-five carcass colours, it's a genuinely personal kitchen rather than an off-the-shelf one.

In-Frame Kitchens
Best for: The most traditional look · character homes
In-frame is cabinet-making in its purest form — each door and drawer set within a solid frame, the way kitchens were built before mass production. We offer ten in-frame configurations across the Heritage, Milford, Saunton, Swanson and Windsor styles, in either a Classic or a Beaded frame variant, finished in natural timber or hand-painted. It's a made-to-measure, bespoke option for homeowners who want the real thing.
- 10 configurations
- Classic or Beaded frame
- Timber or painted

Cabinet tier
Classic — Cabinet Tier
Best for: A quality kitchen at a sensible starting point
Our entry tier is a properly-built kitchen, not a compromise. Carcasses are made from 18mm Egger chipboard board and hung on Blum hardware — the same soft-close hinges and runners the premium brands use — so drawers glide and doors close quietly for years. A dependable, hard-wearing foundation for a busy family kitchen.
- 18mm Egger board
- Blum hinges & runners
- Soft-close as standard

Surfaces
Worktops & Surfaces
Best for: Hard-wearing surfaces you'll live with daily
We supply premium worktops from Neolith, Silestone, Dekton, Laminam, Cosy Stone and Infinity — spanning sintered stone, engineered quartz and porcelain. Sintered and porcelain surfaces are extremely hard-wearing, heat-tolerant and non-porous; quartz gives depth of colour with easy day-to-day care. Your designer helps you weigh looks against how the surface lives — and everything is templated to sit flush with the cabinetry.
- Neolith · Dekton · Laminam
- Silestone quartz
- Templated to fit

Materials
FSC-Certified Timber
Best for: Responsibly sourced, honestly made
The timber in our kitchens is FSC-certified, meaning it comes from responsibly managed forests. Combined with hand-making to order rather than mass production, it means a kitchen you can feel good about — built to last, from materials sourced with the future in mind, and made to your exact specification with 0.1mm CNC precision.

The details
Appliances, Sinks, Taps & Handles
Best for: Tying the whole kitchen together

We integrate appliances from Neff, Siemens, Bosch, Bora, Miele, Fisher & Paykel, Fulgor Milano and Caple; supply Quooker boiling-water taps, Shaws of Darwen butler sinks, the 1810 Company and Caple; and finish with handles from Crofts & Assinder, Barchester, Langham, Bidbury & Co, Montreal and Harrington — all specified together so nothing fights.
